Vanavond is het de beurt aan IN-EDIT om een film te selecteren. Er is gekozen voor de film Scream Of My Blood: A Gogol Bordello Story. IN-EDIT is een muziekdocumentaire festival met nieuwe internationale en Nederlandse muziekdocumentaires. Daaromheen vinden onder andere live concerten van bijpassende muzikanten plaats. En Vanavond zijn ze onze gastcurator.
Praktische details
Tijdens de filmscreenings van het Filmplein krijg je voor slechts €10 een gratis biertje (Ijwit of Vrijwit) of frisdrank, een bakje popcorn en een koptelefoon in bruikleen om de film te kunnen beluisteren. De film begint om 22.00 uur.
De koptelefoons zijn vanaf 21.00 uur af te halen met je ticket(s). Mochten er nog kaarten beschikbaar zijn, dan kun je die ook vanaf 21.00 uur ter plekke kopen voor €12,50.
Let op: gekochte kaarten kunnen niet meer geannuleerd en/of vergoed worden.

This evening it is IN-EDIT’s turn to select a film. The film Scream Of My Blood: A Gogol Bordello Story was chosen. IN-EDIT is a music documentary festival with new international and Dutch music documentaries. Next to the screening of the films, the festival also offers live performances by matching musicians.
Practical information
A €10 ticket for the Filmplein includes: a free beer (IJwit or Vrijwit) or soft drink, a cup of popcorn, and a headset on loan to listen and watch the film. The film will start at 10:00 PM.
The headsets can be picked up from 9:00 PM with your ticket(s). If there are still tickets available, you can also buy them on-site from 9:00 PM for €12.50.

NL: Een tumultueus leven en een gepassioneerde persoonlijkheid staan centraal in deze film over Eugene Hütz, frontman van de ‘gypsypunk’-band Gogol Bordello. Terwijl we ons verdiepen in zowel politieke als muzikale aspecten, zijn we er getuige van hoe de kernramp van Tsjernobyl en het Sovjet-autoritarisme hem ertoe dwongen naar New York te emigreren en snel een Balkanmuziekgroep op te richten. De Russische invasie van Oekraïne leidt tot een terugkeer naar zijn thuisland, waar de kunstenaar beseft dat, hoezeer we ook rondzwerven en een staatloos bestaan omarmen, onze wortels ons blijven achtervolgen.
EN: A tumultuous life and passionate personality take centre stage in this film about Eugene Hütz, frontman of the ‘gypsy punk’ band Gogol Bordello. Delving into both political and musical aspects, we witness how the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and Soviet authoritarianism compelled him to emigrate to New York and rapidly establish a Balkan music group. The Russian invasion of Ukraine prompts a return to his homeland, where the artist realizes that, no matter how much we roam and embrace a stateless existence, our roots come back to haunt us.
