De coalitie Samen Tegen Racisme stimuleert Amsterdammers, en kleinere organisaties gevestigd in Amsterdam, om initiatieven te starten tegen racisme en discriminatie. Denk daarbij aan workshops, netwerkbijeenkomsten, dialogen, performances, panel-gesprekken, lezingen, campagnes of filmvertoningen. Ook verstrekken we hulp aan kleinere organisaties met het bouwen van infrastructuur zoals het bouwen van websites, administratie voor het formeren van een stichting en andere materialen die organisaties nodig hebben om actief te zijn. De coalitie ondersteunt deze initiatieven via het Grassroots Fund. Samen Tegen Racisme verwelkomt iedereen met ideeën om racisme en discriminatie in Amsterdam tegen te gaan. Wie zijn wij?

De coalitie Samen Tegen Racisme heeft als doel om ervoor te zorgen dat Amsterdammers minder discriminatie en racisme meemaken en dat inwoners van Amsterdam gesterkt worden om op te komen voor zichzelf en voor anderen. De coalitie heeft een grassroots (bottom-up) benadering en werkt aan een Amsterdamse beweging die zich pro-actief tegen racisme en discriminatie inzet. Samen Tegen Racisme is een initiatief bestaande uit: Comité 21 Maart, Collectief tegen Islamofobie en Discriminatie , Zwart Manifest, Oy Vey en Pakhuis de Zwijger. Grassroots Fund: jouw idee deel van Samen Tegen Racisme

Het grassroots fund is bedoeld voor iedereen met een goed idee tegen racisme en discriminatie in Amsterdam. Dit kan je breed interpreteren: het initiatief mag op buurt of wijkniveau zijn of juist voor een specifieke doelgroep op een school of in een publieke of culturele ruimte. Jouw voorstel kan variëren van een workshop, netwerkbijeenkomst, dialoog, kunstprogramma, panelgesprek, campagne, lezing, een filmvertoning, het bouwen van een website, het opzetten van een stichting en veel meer. Het kan multi-interdisciplinair zijn en variëren in vorm en inhoud. Doe je een aanvraag als individu? Dan vragen we je om samen te werken met tenminste twee anderen.

Wie kunnen er meedoen?

Samen Tegen Racisme is een platform voor alle grassroots initiatieven en organisaties die werken aan het thema van anti-racisme. Ook input & ideeën van betrokken individuen zijn van harte welkom.

Hoeveel kan ik aanvragen en hoe doe ik dat?

Het grassroots fund kan initiatieven bekostigen tussen de €1500 en maximaal €3500. Kiezen we jouw idee? Dan nemen we contact met je op over de begroting en verplichtingen rondom verslaglegging. Je kunt het hele jaar door ideeën aandragen voor de programmering van Samen Tegen Racisme via het grassroots fund deelnameformulier online of je kunt het word document downloaden en mailen naar [email protected]. Probeer dit formulier zo volledig mogelijk in te vullen, dan kunnen we alle ideeën goed beoordelen. Let op, omdat het fonds doorlopend is, geldt: op is op. We raden je daarom aan om er snel bij te zijn!

Over de selectie van het Grassroots Fund

We zullen alle aanvragen met zorg behandelen en beoordelen op inhoud, vorm, mogelijke impact en haalbaarheid. Helaas kunnen we niet alle ideeën faciliteren door beperkingen in tijd en ruimte. Het kan voorkomen dat we sommige programmavoorstellen in samenspraak zullen verfijnen of, waar mogelijk, samenwerkingen suggereren met andere organisaties als er overlap is. De grassroots fund is hierbij expliciet niet bedoelt voor lobby activiteiten*

Doelstellingen van de coalitie Samen Tegen Racisme:

Het is belangrijk dat de aanvraag voor het Grassroots Fund tenminste bijdraagt aan één van de volgende doelstellingen:
1) Bewustzijn vergroten en/of informatie verschaffen over diverse vormen van racisme en discriminatie.
2) Aansporen tot actie nemen tegen racisme en discriminatie.
3) Handelingsperspectieven vergroten van Amsterdammers en/of tips geven voor de praktijk om racisme en discriminatie aan te pakken.
4) Samenwerkingen en/of netwerken versterken die racisme en discriminatie tegengaan.
5) Zichtbaarheid vergroten en de positie versterken van belangenorganisaties en grassroots initiatieven die zich inzetten tegen racisme en discriminatie.

Criteria en verplichtingen

Elk jaar steunt de alliantie Samen Tegen Racisme [STR] vijf tot tien grassroots organisaties en initiatieven met de grassroots fund. STR support het liefst initiatieven waarvoor dit fonds onmisbaar is als zij hun plannen willen waarmaken. De grassroots fund is bedoeld voor kleine initiatieven of organisaties die zich inzetten tegen racisme en discriminatie in Amsterdam. Hieronder lees je waar een aanvraag aan moet voldoen en welke verplichtingen er zijn tijdens en na de activiteit.

Waar moet mijn aanvraag aan voldoen?

  • De aanvraag is óf ingediend door een Amsterdamse grassroots* organisatie óf door een Amsterdamse belangengroep of initiatief bestaande uit minimaal drie individuen.
    *Onder een grassroots organisatie verstaan wij een organisatie die geen structurele subsidies ontvangt van een overheidsinstantie, alliantie of ander fonds.
  • Het ingediende plan sluit aan bij ten minste één van de vijf doelstellingen van de coalitie Samen Tegen Racisme.
  • De aanvragers kunnen aantonen dat ze in contact zijn en ervaring hebben met de doelgroep die zij willen bereiken. Licht dit duidelijk toe in de aanvraag.
  • Het ingediende plan vindt plaats in Amsterdam vóór juni 2024.
  • De aanvragers hebben geen vaste mensen in dienst. Zij mogen wel werken met vrijwilligers.
  • De aanvragers dienen een begroting in, met een toelichting over hoe zij hun geld gaan uitgeven.

Waar moet mijn begroting aan voldoen?

  • Het geld is vooral bedoeld voor onkosten die nodig zijn om het ingediende plan te realiseren. Van het totale bedrag mag maximaal 30% naar de organisatiekosten en het personeel (vrijwilligers vergoedingen, etc.). Daarnaast is er 70% voor programmakosten of bouwkosten (inhoud, (promotie)materiaal, sprekers, reiskosten, locatiekosten, website, etc.).
  • In de begroting deelt de aanvrager welke eventuele andere financiële contributies die zij ontvangt voor de activiteit en of het project. Dit is maximaal 5000€ en is niet structureel, de totale begroting mag dus maximaal 8500€ bedragen (inclusief de grassroots fund).

Aan welke verplichtingen moet ik verder voldoen?

  • De organisatoren houden administratie bij van uitgaven (bonnetjes, facturen bewaren). Deze worden naderhand toegestuurd.
  • Er dient een kort verslag te worden ingeleverd over hoe de website, het projectplan of het evenement heeft bijgedragen aan de doelstelling(en). Dit kan via het evaluatieformulier die we ook als bestand opsturen.
  • Daarnaast wordt extra documentatie gewaardeerd zoals foto’s en/of artikelen in media als dit beschikbaar is.
  • We ondersteunen geen lobby activiteiten, zie uitleg onderaan.

*Toelichting lobby activiteiten: Middelen mogen niet gebruikt worden om politieke activiteiten, zoals lobby’s of verkiezingsdebatten te financieren. Ook worden de middelen niet gebruikt om een politiek standpunt in te nemen richting politieke partijen. The coalition of Samen Tegen Racisme encourages the people and organizations of Amsterdam to start initiatives against racism and discrimination. Think of workshops, network meetings, dialogues, performances, panel discussions, lectures, campaigns, film screenings or anything that has to do with the infrastructure of your organisation like a website, administration to set up a foundation or any materials you need to function. The coalition supports these initiatives via their Grassroots Fund. Samen Tegen Racisme welcomes anyone with ideas to reduce racism and discrimination in Amsterdam.

Who are we?

Samen Tegen Racisme aims to ensure that Amsterdam residents experience less discrimination and racism and that residents of Amsterdam are empowered to stand up for themselves and for others. The coalition has a grassroots (bottom-up) approach. It works towards an Amsterdam movement that is proactive against racism and discrimination. The alliance consists of Committee March 21, Collective against Islamophobia and Discrimination, Zwart Manifest, Oy Vey and Pakhuis de Zwijger. Grassroots Fund: your idea part of Samen Tegen Racisme

The grassroots fund is intended for everyone with a good idea against racism and discrimination in Amsterdam. This can be interpreted broadly: the initiative may be neighbourhood or district level or for a specific target group at a school or in a public or cultural space. Your proposal can vary from a workshop, network meeting, dialogue, art program, panel discussion, campaign, lecture, a film screening, materials, a website and more. It can be multi-interdisciplinary and vary in form and content. Are you applying as an individual? Then we ask you to collaborate with at least two others.

Who can participate?

Together against Racisme is a platform for al grassroots initiatives en organisations that deal with racism and discrimination. Input from active individuals are also welcomed.

How much can I request and how do I apply?

The grassroots fund can fund initiatives between €1500 and a maximum of €3500. Do we choose your idea? Then we will contact you about the budget and obligations regarding reporting. You can submit ideas for the program of Samen Tegen Racisme throughout the year via the grassroots fund contact form online or download the word file and send the completed form to [email protected]. Please try to fill in this form as completely as possible to assess all ideas properly. Please note that because the fund is continuous, the fund may run out. We, therefore, recommend that you act quickly!

About the selection of the Grassroots Fund

We will treat all applications with care and assess them on content, form, possible impact and feasibility. Unfortunately, we cannot facilitate all ideas due to time and space constraints. We may refine some program proposals in consultation or, where possible, suggest collaborations with other organizations if there is overlap.

Goals of the Together Against Racism coalition:

The application for the Grassroots Fund must contribute to at least one of the following objectives:

1) Raising awareness and/or providing information about various forms of racism and discrimination.
2) Encouraging action against racism and discrimination.
3) Increasing action perspectives of Amsterdammers and/or giving tips for the practice of tackling racism and discrimination.
4) Strengthen collaborations and/or networks that combat racism and discrimination.
5) Increase the visibility and strengthen the position of interest groups and grassroots initiatives that work against racism and discrimination.

Criteria and obligations

The alliance Samen Tegen Racisme supports five to ten grassroots organizations and initiatives with the grassroots fund every year. Samen Tegen Racisme prefers to support initiatives for which this fund is indispensable if they want to realize their plans. The grassroots fund is intended for small initiatives or organizations that work against racism and discrimination in Amsterdam. Below you can read what an application must meet and what obligations exist during and after the activity.

What requirements must my application meet?

  • The application was submitted either by an Amsterdam grassroots* organization or by an Amsterdam interest group or initiative consisting of at least three individuals.

*A grassroots organization is an organization that does not receive structural subsidies from a government agency, alliance or other funds.

  • The submitted plan is in line with at least one of the five goals of the Samen Tegen Racisme coalition.
  • Applicants can show that they are in contact and have experience with their target group. Please explain this clearly in the application.
  • The submitted plan (requested in 2023-2024) will take place in Amsterdam before June 2024.
  • The applicants do not employ permanent people. They are allowed to work with volunteers.
  • Applicants submit a budget with an explanation of how they will spend their money.

What must my budget meet?

  • The money is mainly intended for expenses that are necessary to realize the submitted plan. A maximum of 30% of the total amount may go to the organization and staff (volunteer fees, etc.). In addition, there is 70% for program costs (content, (promotional) material, speakers, travel costs, location costs, etc.).
  • In the budget, the applicant shares any other financial contributions it receives for the activity. This is a maximum of € 5000 and is not structural, the total budget must be below €8500 (including the grassroots fund).

What other obligations do I have to meet?

  • The organizers keep records of expenses (receipts, keep invoices).
  • A brief report on how the event, website or materials contributed to the objective(s) should be submitted. This can be done via an evaluation form that we send beforehand.
  • Sending pictures or other forms of documentation would be appreciated, such as mentions in media outlets.
  • the activity must not be a lobby activity*
