Since 2021, Pakhuis de Zwijger’s ongoing programme Designing Cities for All (DCFA) has brought together a diverse community of designers, artists, activists, students, policymakers, and academics to explore how cities can become more inclusive. In 2023, we embarked on the second phase, DCFA: RE-generation deepening our conversations on belonging, environmental justice, accessible technology, decolonisation, and much more.
Join us for an inspiring wrap-up event filled with reflection on our journey, engaging talks, art, music, and a look back at the incredible collaborations. We’ll also be celebrating the launch of our last DCFA publication, Closing Perspectives on Designing Cities For All featuring new voices from our advocates and insights gained through the past two years of DCFA. Let’s come together one last time in the spirit of Designing Cities For All!
About Designing Cities for All
Designing Cities For All (DCFA):RE-generation is a two-year research and presentation programme and is made up of various components. The programme is a combination of desk research, interviews and practical research on the one hand (supported by a total of six Fellows who will each worked on the programme for three months) combined with the associated activities of dossier development; and on the other hand various forms of transfer and exchange of practical experiences and generated knowledge.
About Closing Perspectives on Designing Cities for All
This final publication reflects the end of the Designing Cities For All: RE-generation, approach, and manifesto focusing on the role of designers in shaping and creating cities for, by and with everyone. While the first and second essay bundles each reflect the first and second years of DCFA, this third and last publication reflects the final two years (2023-2024). All three publications, with the Design Principles booklet, are a culmination of the whole DCFA trajectory over the past four years.
