Previously Play the City and Pakhuis de Zwijger collaborated on the final fellowship of the Designing Cities For All: RE-generation series with City Games in the Age of Urban AI. We examined the impact of city games and Urban AI with Ekim Tan, founder of Play the City and director of Game for Cities. This spring, Play the City returns to Pakhuis de Zwijger to host the Games for Cities training!
The Spring 2026 edition of the Games for Cities Training is a four-day professional development programme organised by by the Play the City Foundation, hosted at Pakhuis de Zwijger. Designed for city-makers, planners and policy innovators, this training explores how to use City Gaming and digital co-creation tools in real planning and decision-making processes. You’ll learn how to design and facilitate games that help diverse actors think together, test future scenarios and make better collective decisions. The programme concludes with a public playtesting event at Pakhuis de Zwijger.
Play the City invites professionals from municipalities, consultancies, design studios, utility companies and academic institutions to take part in this unique learning experience. The programme runs for four days, from 17th to 20th March 2026. Experts and academics from across Europe, as well as Morocco and the Republic of Korea have already registered so far. If you’d like to join them, we invite you to register before Friday, February 27, 2026.
