The film tells the story of Carla (played by Leonie Benesch), a young high school teacher in Germany whose idealism sets her apart from her colleagues. When one of her students is suspected of a series of thefts, Carla decides to go after the truth. Her investigation quickly creates a hostile atmosphere amongst the teaching staff.
