Design based on open, sustainable, inclusive and collaborative principles. Innovative concepts that respect natural resources and social values appear more and more often but also represent a niche in the larger linear economy in which we live. For starting designers or new ideas it might be hard to find a market, raw (recycled) materials or a community for their products. We need different governance models, different consumption habits and the feeling of urgency to change our way of living. In this program six innovative projects are being presented and we start the conversation with experts within the field of Distributed Design. How can designers do what they love, make a positive impact and make a living? How do we move from small-scale initiatives to much-needed societal changes? An evening about sustainable idea-to-market strategies.
You can attend this event physically or online. When making your reservation, choose between a physical spot or an online reservation.

About Distributed Design

The Distributed Design Platform acts as an exchange and networking hub for the European maker movement and the emerging field of distributed design. The initiative aims to develop and promote the connection between designers, makers and the digital and local markets.

Distributed Design values are Open, Collaborative, Regenerative, and Ecosystemic. Open refers to a transparent, replicable and accessible design process. Collaborative means including citizens as active participants in the design process. Regenerative principles are renewing and restoring rather than just replacing or devaluing systems. Ecosystemic stands for recognizing the complexity of interactions between cultural, natural and social aspects.
