Previously Play the City and Pakhuis de Zwijger collaborated on the final fellowship of the Designing Cities For All: RE-generation series with City Games in the Age of Urban AI. We examined the impact of city games and Urban AI with Ekim Tan, founder of Play the City and director of Game for Cities. This Autumn, Play the City returns to Pakhuis de Zwijger to host the Games for Cities training for the second time!
The Fall 2026 edition of the Games for Cities Training is a four-day training, where you will learn how to develop and strategically apply games to address complex spatial and societal challenges. Drawing on theory and latest technologies such as Urban AI, digital participation tools, and inspiring real-life examples, you will develop your skills step by step. Through game design, you will explore how to support data-driven decision-making. The programme concludes with a public playtesting event at Pakhuis de Zwijger.
Play the City invites professionals from municipalities, consultancies, design studios, utility companies and academic institutions to take part in this unique learning experience. The programme runs for four days, from 22nd to 25th September 2026. Experts and academics from across Europe, as well as Morocco and the Republic of Korea have already registered so far. If you’d like to join them, we invite you to register before Friday, February 27, 2026.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Autumn 2026 edition of the Games for Cities Training!
Participation fees:
