Think like a commoner and act like a commoner. In a world facing deep ecological and social crises, what does it take to build real alternatives? Join American activist and scholar David Bollier and local Amsterdam commons initiatives to explore how commons thinking becomes commons practice—reclaiming land, digital networks, urban spaces, care, art, and governance from the ground up.

In the face of climate collapse, inequality, and failing institutions, many people around the world are turning to the commons. Author and activist David Bollier presents his new book Think Like a Commoner (2nd edition) to explore how commoners are creating new social forms to reclaim governance, land, food, and care, and much else to achieve what the market/state system is not: empowerment, fairness, sufficiency, eco-responsibility. In a follow-on conversation with several Amsterdam-based commons projects, we will explore: What does it mean to not only think, but act like a commoner in our city today?
