At the Narrative Journalism Foundation we observe guidelines for what makes a journalistic production narrative, but we do not have similar guidelines to determine what makes a narrative production journalistic. In light of recent controversy on stretching narrative freedom in journalism, we’ll explore those journalistic and narrative boundaries. Where would we cross the line?

PLEASE NOTE: this event is only for those in possession of a ticket for the ‘True Stories: Beyond the Bubble’ conference, 16-18 May 2019. Buy your ticket for the conference and reserve a spot for The Narrative Dilemma through our webshop. For more information, check our website.

Jan Kuitenbrouwer will kick-off the evening with a spoken column about the pitfalls of narrative journalism, followed by a debate with Mads Brügger, Thomas Rueb, Mimi Lok and Mateo Hoke about the challenges that narrative journalists encounter when creating their stories.
