Eat to Meet is a dinner where (new) Amsterdammers can meet each other. The last couple of years Amsterdam has welcomed many new residents. Join this 19th edition of our informal Eat to Meet dinner where you get the chance to meet (new) Amsterdammers. This edition is focused on the importance of having a network. Together with Blendin we invite the participants of the first DoneerJeNetwerk-pilot, and locals and newcomers that are interested to get to know DoneerJeNetwerk for participating in the future. Join us this evening to enlarge your network or to discover what kind of impact your network can make on someone else, share experiences, eat, dance and meet new people.
DoneerJeNetwerk is based on the idea that a professional network is one of the most important channels through which to find work. For newcomers, the wish and the skills to build a new life are often there, but what’s often missing is a network. This is where the locals come in; they have the opportunity to share their network. With DoneerJeNetwerk a newcomer and local are matched based on sector and location. This match will be in touch for 3 months during which the locals will open up his or her network to the newcomer with at least 5 relevant contacts. In this way, the newcomer is able to build a relevant network and will get closer to finding a suitable job or internship.
DoneerJeNetwerk is an initiative of Blendin. Blendin believes in the power of personal human connections and believes the discussion around integration could use an innovative approach. We are committed to the realization of meaningful connections between locals and newcomers, and we do this in a creative, accessible and egalitarian way.
