Technology has the potential to transform healthcare, placing the patient at the center of the healthcare system, increasing security and resolving inefficiencies. “novel strategies”, “blockchain” and “innovations” have become buzzwords in healthcare. But what do these words mean in the context of global health? This question will be answered during the 2019 Global Health Mini-Symposium, held on Thursday July 11 organized by Uniting Streams. Expert presentations will be held on falsified medicine solutions, digital adherence solutions in tuberculosis and blockchain technology in healthcare.

About Uniting Streams

Uniting Streams is the working group for early career Global Health researchers within the Dutch Society for Tropical Medicine & International Health (NVTG).

Our goals are:

  • To promote (multidisciplinary) scientific interaction in the field of Global Health, both between researchers in the Netherlands and with their colleagues abroad.
  • To facilitate the planning, execution and output of Global Health-related field research through a peer-to-peer network aimed at exchanging mutual experience and expertise, as well as shared resources.
  • To create a platform for the dissemination of scientific results of field research in Tropical Medicine and Global Health.
