A young doctor and a young journalist fall in love with each other, in the middle of a civil war. While their city Aleppo is being bombed, they get married and have a beautiful child. Director and journalist Waad al-Kateab captures the atrocities and daily events surrounding her family and her city with her camera. Meanwhile, her husband Hamza works in the emergency hospital that he has set up. Eventually, this hospital becomes the target of a new bombing and the dangers are getting closer and closer. The young family is struggling with an impossible choice: whether or not to flee the city to protect their daughter's life, when leaving means abandoning the struggle for freedom for which she has already sacrificed so much.
