On Friday March 1 we are looking for the next generation of promising designers, inventors, and makers that are improving life through design! During this evening we give the stage to pioneers in distributed design, who offer solutions and apply technology to solve community problems and a sustainable urban development. Are you working in product design, fashion, bio design, food, architecture or are you in any other way affiliated with a FabLab? Are you experimenting with new materials, combining design with digital technology, or transforming waste into valuable goods? Then you might be that pioneer we are looking for!
Let us know what you are working on and become part of the Distributed Design Market Platform. Describe the product, concept or idea of the pioneer and tell why you think this is so special. You can submit your project here. We would love to hear you talk about your project on our stage on March 1, and next to that – it would be awesome to showcase your work during the Distributed Design Exhibition during WeMakeThe.City festival from June 17-23 at Marineterrein Amsterdam.
Win educational support and prize money with your design!
During the event on March 1, we will also promote the call for the INDEX: Awards 2019 and the European Distributed Design Award. The European finalists will join a dedicated program at the WeMakeThe.City. The winner of the Distributed Design Award will be awarded a full scholarship and transportation to the Master in Design for Emergent Futures (MDEF) programma, which takes mainly place at IAAC — Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona. This programma inspires, informs and critiques design interventions, harnessing the potential of advanced technologies.
Entrants in the Distributed Design Award are also eligible to win an INDEX: Award which will be announced in September in Copenhagen, where €100,000 is presented to the winner in each of the categories. The finalists of the Distributed Design Award will be chosen from the nomination pool of INDEX: Awards.
We are looking forward to the future and new amazing talents – let’s set our values and make design distributable to change the production and consumption of our future cities!
