In this episode, Annick van Rinsum speaks with award-winning, multidisciplinary and research-based artist Laia Abril. They talk about her methodology as a research-based artist, and how for her, research is about curiosity and connecting dots. Laia’s work often touches on the workings of biopolitics and sheds a light on intimate and painful stories. Currently, Laia is working on a trilogy: ‘a History of Misogyny’, in which she uncovers the long history of institutional misogyny. Through her work, she becomes a different kind of expert. And, in turn, her work shows her audiences the hidden facets of oppression.
